What is A Systems Integrator?
By definition, a Systems Integrator specializes in bringing together component subsystems into a
whole and ensures that those subsystems function together. Systems integrators may work in
many fields but the term is most commonly used in the information technology (IT) field. Systems
integration is the process of linking together different computing systems and software
applications physically and functionally to create an integrated business solution.
System integrators integrate multiple systems for inputting, processing, interpreting, storing, and
categorizing data. For example, DCT Solutions Group specializes in Mobile Computing solutions
that may consist of a variety of components including handheld or pen tablet computers, wireless
communication protocols, application software and software interfaces to allow interoperability
with other systems.
As a Systems Integrator, we have a broad range of experience and skill sets all tied around
integrating best practice business rules with the latest mobile computing technologies to solve
complex business problems.
System Integrator or VAR?
Traditionally in the computer industry a VAR (Value Added Reseller) is a company that takes an
existing product, adds its own "value" usually in the form of application software or professional
services (installation, configuration, training etc.) and then resells the product. In today's market, a
VAR often refers to a reseller of a specific manufacturers' products who attempts to bundle
additional services to differentiate themselves from their competition.
By contrast, a Systems Integrator maintains a more open minded approach and a willingness to
implement a variety of technologies from multiple manufacturers to provide more complex
solutions. While there is a legitimate need for both in the market, they are not the same.

designated by the system is counterproductive. We have the technical expertise to tailor the
system to meet your business rules.
